Offer description

The Lead Administrator will direct the non-clinical teams supporting management and the Partners with regards to all elements of practice administration including appointment systems, secretarial, correspondence management, summarising, coding, referrals, non-NHS reports, IT, finance, premises and patient services.


Main duties of the job

* Manage and support the administrative and reception teams
* Oversee rota planning workload distribution and operational efficiency
* Ensure compliance with practice policies, HR processes and CQC standards
* Support recruitment induction and staff development
* Handle patient queries and escalates issues appropriately
* Work closely with the Manager and clinical team to support service delivery
* Contribute to service improvement and practice development
* Step in to cover Operations Manager duties during leave
* Lead the administration team and workstreams under direction from management
* Participate in primary healthcare team meetings; minute taking and implementation of actions
* Identify gaps and/or needs in current activities, propose solutions, and agree with management
* Supervise reception and admin staff, coordinating the reception service to the patient population within agreed guidelines
* Responsible for all reception and admin staff (Human Resources)


About us

We are a medium sized practice with two partners and two salaried GPs. We are a training practice with two intakes each year for GP registrars. We have two regular locum GPs. We have a practice nurse, a nurse associate and a health care assistant who work together as a nursing team.


Person Specification


Qualifications

* GCSE English and Maths, grade C or above
* Management or supervisory experience
* Evidence of commitment to continuing professional development
* Experience of primary care/general practice
* Previous management experience within a GP surgery
* Able to work between 08:00 – 18:30 full time
* Strong knowledge of HR processes including absence management, appraisals, training and performance support
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
