Ensuring the safety of engineering design for mechanical systems at a niche aviation engineering innovator in Uxbridge, West London, where you will be literally saving lives! This family-owned firm designs and manufactures specific safety systems for aerospace clients and is renowned for first-class products & services. You will be part of a top-tier team working with some of the brightest British engineers.
Responsibilities include:
* Ensuring aerospace product safety through investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvements.
* Generating design concepts in compliance with regulatory, customer, international, and military standards.
* Producing product definition information including 3D models and engineering drawings.
* Workload planning, technical calculations, reports, design reviews, and presentations.
* Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to optimize designs.
* Mentoring and training junior personnel, depending on experience.

You will have
A suitable candidate will typically possess:
* IMechE accredited Mechanical Engineering Degree, Aerospace Engineering Degree, or equivalent.
* 1st or 2.1 degree from Russell Group/Redbrick University (desirable).
* Experience in requirements generation, technical evaluations, and trade studies.
* Support engineering justifications with hand calculations.
* Knowledge of finite element analysis software.
* Understanding of GD&T standards (ASME Y14.5).
* Design for assembly and manufacturing expertise.
* Experience in aerospace/defence, e.g., ISO 15288 (desirable).
