Overview

At The Forward Trust, we are seeking a Peer Mentor Coordinator to lead the development and management of our Peer Mentor service and social inclusion category, while actively promoting this service across the county.

Location: Lincoln

Salary: £24,000 per annum

Vacancy Type: Permanent, Full Time

Closing Date: 24 September 2025


Responsibilities

* Recruit, train, and supervise peer mentors.
* Manage a diverse caseload with varying complexities and risk levels.
* Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop collaborative action plans, and maintain accurate records.
* Deliver 1:1 and group-work interventions using motivational techniques.
* Work closely with probation staff, partner agencies, and subcontractors to ensure coordinated delivery of services.
* Travel throughout the county to meet service users in custody, upon release, and at mandated probation locations.
* Work remotely from home while ensuring consistent engagement and delivery.
* Support the achievement of targets set by Forward Trust and local commissioners.
* Attend training sessions at head office as required.
* Some flexibility will be needed for evening hours and other operational requirements with prior notice.


Essential Skills & Experience

* Knowledge of issues facing service users in the criminal justice sector.
* Previous experience providing a peer support service to this or a similar client group.
* Demonstrable experience managing high caseloads, including risk assessments, SMART action plans, and case records.
* Experience delivering 1:1 and group interventions using motivational techniques.
* Ability to set and maintain professional boundaries.
* Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and meet targets.
* Understanding of, and commitment to, equal opportunity, GDPR, and client confidentiality.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact sensitively and professionally with a wide range of stakeholders.
* Ability to work effectively with key partners to successfully deliver projects.
