Working hours: Monday to Friday 8am – 4:30pm
Salary £40,000 – £50,000 (dependant on experience)
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Civils Manager to oversee civil works in and around the Newport area, ensuring smooth coordination of cabling activities, ensuring they are completed on time.
Job objective and responsibilities
* liaise directly with local authorities and building strong relationships
* liaise directly with civils suppliers, carrying out weekly meetings with them
* Manage civils workload sent to suppliers and provide back office with permit dates
* Ensure all works are completed on time safely, within the permit and to the correct quality standard to allow delivery dates to be met
* Manage 2x field supervisors ensuring they are completing the required weekly safety checks
* 2x weekly safety checks to be carried out by civils manager
* Attend meetings in the office with the office team to visualise work volumes and also provide required information relating to specific job
* Carry out pre site checks of works allocated to supplier
* Ensure all health and safety is met on all sites and any near miss reporting or incidents are reported in the correct manor
* Building a good relationship with the client, suppliers and public
* Work safely at all times whilst building a good quality long lasting network
Experience and qualifications
* Civils experience on the Openreach Network is a must
* Telecoms Experience (required)
* Knowledge of fibre build requirements is a must
* Experience dealing with local authorities and permitting requirements desirable
* Supervisor NRSWA
* SA002 desirable
