Child and Family Worker

£18-£20 per hour
Child and family workers play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, stability, and development of children and families, often working in challenging and dynamic environments to provide essential support and advocacy.
Duties
Conduct Assessments: Evaluate the needs, strengths, and challenges of children and their families through interviews, observations, and review of records.
Develop Care Plans: Create and implement individualised plans to address the needs of children and families, focusing on improving their well-being and safety.
Monitor Progress: Regularly review and update care plans based on the progress and changing needs of the family.
Provide Emotional Support: Offer counseling and emotional support to children and families dealing with various issues such as abuse, neglect, domestic violence, substance abuse, or mental health problems.
Advocate for Families: Represent and advocate for the needs and rights of children and families in various settings, such as schools, courts, and community services.
Connect to Resources: Link families with appropriate services and resources, including healthcare, housing, education, and financial assistance
Facilitate Access to Services: Assist families in navigating and accessing community resources and support networks.
Promote Educational Success: Work with schools and educational institutions to ensure children receive appropriate educational support and opportunities.
Support Development: Provide guidance on parenting skills, child development, and effective communication strategies to enhance family relationships and child development.
Maintain Records: Keep detailed and accurate records of all interactions, assessments, and interventions with children and families.
Report to Authorities: Prepare and submit reports to relevant authorities, such as child protective services, courts, or other agencies, as required by law.
