Recruitment Assistant – South Western Railway
Join us as a Recruitment Assistant in the Recruitment team, delivering effective recruitment and selection solutions for our evolving business.
Responsibilities
* Manage and prioritise stakeholder interests, delivering service excellence to internal and external customers.
* Assist with large scale vacancy and applicant management: talent attraction events, candidate short‑listing, assessment centres, interview processes.
* Provide clear candidate feedback and support interview teams.
* Respond to enquiries concerning terms and conditions of employment, generate offer & contractual correspondence.
* Assist with special projects and support the Recruitment team as needed.
Qualifications
* Experience working in a fast‑paced, challenging environment.
* Flexible approach to meet business needs.
* Excellent time‑management, communication and interpersonal skills.
* Attention to detail when producing formal documentation such as contracts.
* Strong planning, prioritisation and deadline management.
* Teamwork essential; also able to work independently and use initiative.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
* Desirable: familiarity with talent management systems or HR databases.
* Willingness to learn new systems and acquire job‑related qualifications as required.
* Advantage: certified training in candidate recruitment, assessment or selection techniques (Level A).
Working pattern
Average 37 hours per week over 5 days, office hours. Maternity leave cover until 29/11/2026.
