Role overview:As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll support pupils both individually and in small groups, helping them to access the curriculum and develop essential social and emotional skills. You’ll help students access learning, build independence and engage positively with their education, working closely with teachers and other support staff to implement tailored learning strategies that meet each child’s individual needs. Working alongside teachers and support staff, you’ll help put personalised learning and behaviour strategies into practice so every child has the best chance to thrive.Key responsibilities: Supporting pupils with SEN, SEMH and PMLDAdapting support to suit different learning styles and needsHelping children who communicate differently feel understood and valuedEncouraging engagement, focus and confidence in the classroomBuilding positive relationships with pupils, staff and families Requirements: Experience working with children or young people, SEN experience is a bonus, not a mustA calm, patient and caring approachStrong communication and listening skillsBackgrounds in care, youth work, education or support roles are very welcome Not Thrive trained yet?
