Protek is a well-established network design and installation specialist, delivering high-quality structured cabling solutions for major technology, e-commerce and film clients across the UK, Europe and beyond.
We’re now looking for an experienced, hands-on Senior Data Cabling Engineer to join our growing delivery team.
The Role
£40,000 | Full-time | Field-based (UK & Europe)

We’re now looking for an experienced, hands-on Senior Data Cabling Engineer to join our growing delivery team.
Responsibilities
* Field-based role with regular travel across the UK & Europe
* Projects typically last up to 12 days at a time
* You must live within commutable distance of our HQ in North Baddesley (near Southampton)
* This is a hands-on installation role (not supervisory or desk-based)
Key Responsibilities
* Installing Cat6 & Cat6a structured cabling
* Installing, terminating & testing fibre optic cabling
* Certifying structured cabling systems
* Racking, stacking & patching equipment in comms rooms
* Completing accurate documentation and test results
* Working alongside engineers and apprentices on live projects
About You
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in structured cabling installation
* Strong practical skills and attention to detail
* Able to work independently and as part of a team
* Competent with basic IT (Word, Excel – Fluke LinkWare Live desirable)
* Full UK driving licence & own vehicle
* Right to work in the UK
* SC clearance desirable but not essential (must be willing to undergo checks)
