Overview
MINI Plant Swindon is an integral part of the BMW Group’s Production Triangle. The Facility Management and Energy department maintains all non-production infrastructure on the plant, including roads, buildings and utility supply networks. This 13-month placement commences July 2026.
What awaits you?
* Preparing documents for tender enquiries for contractors and project managing, supervising and coordinating contractor work.
* Supplier steering and responding to reactive repairs as they arise.
* Managing and leading facility change requests to minimise disruption to core activities.
* Planning for future developments including space and resource allocation for new buildings or re-organisation of current premises.
* Ensuring completed work meets high standards and following up on any deficiencies.
* Using performance management techniques to monitor service levels and lead on improvements.
* Using BMW facilities management systems to analyse data and plan maintenance schedules and proactive tasks.
* Contributing ideas to reduce site energy consumption and improve sustainability and circularity of systems.
Qualifications And Experience
* Studying for a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Construction or Business; on track to achieve a 2:2 or above. Work experience in administration, building, business, construction, engineering or energy management is advantageous but not required.
* Decision-making, time management and project management skills.
* Teamwork and the ability to lead and motivate others.
* IT skills preferred, especially MS Office.
* Practical, flexible and innovative approach with the ability to prioritise workload.
* A full driving licence may be required if travelling between sites.

* Competitive salary in the region of £23,650 per year, 26 days holiday per annum (pro rata) and a pension scheme.

* Returning to studies for at least 6 months after the placement.
