Our Energy business offers a Senior Air Quality Consultant position in Brighton, Bristol, Manchester or Inverness. The role involves delivering large‑scale air quality projects for governments, international financial institutions and private banks.
About the Role
As a Senior Air Quality Consultant you will:
* Lead UK and international air quality assessments for planning, permit and EIA applications.
* Provide policy advice, monitoring and modelling support.
* Manage project technical reviews and overall project management.
* Supervise and train junior team members.
* Participate in business development and production of proposals.
About You
We are looking for someone with:
* Significant experience leading air quality assessments.
* Experience in bidding and project management.
* Academic qualifications such as a Degree or Masters in a relevant subject.
* UK transport assessment experience with ADMS-Roads, ADMS, AERMOD and GIS platforms.
* Ability to produce high‑quality reports for both stand‑alone and EIA assessments.
* Fluency in English (spoken and written) with excellent communication skills.
Candidate Specification
Essential
* Degree or Masters in a relevant air‑quality related subject.
* Leadership of diverse air quality assessments for large infrastructure projects.
* Delivery of assessments for Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects in the UK.
* High proficiency with AERMOD or ADMS, including ADMS‑Roads.
* Experience with energy generation projects (UK or international).
* Capability to produce air‑quality focused proposals.
* Strong written communication skills.
Desirable
* Knowledge of monitoring approaches for various pollutants.
* Experience developing emissions inventories for regional scale projects.
* Knowledge of operational monitoring reporting and CEMS data analysis.
* Training of junior team members.
* GIS system experience.
* Experience with OpenAir and Python.
* Membership of a professional body such as IAQM or IEMA.
