Overview
We are seeking a Technical Instructor to work for an engineering training provider in Rochester.
The Role: Our Technical Instructors design and deliver short training courses to small groups of engineers at our base in Rochester, throughout the UK and overseas. This involves ordering parts, briefing and dealing with sub-contractors, building training rigs, researching technical issues, writing course notes and delivering the actual training courses. Our client is a small, expanding company and as such all of our employees contribute to the general activities associated with running a small business. The company is an Employee Owned Trust (an EOT), where the employees can be share holders and enjoy the benefit of share dividends and tax-free bonus payments.
Responsibilities
* Design and deliver short training courses to small groups of engineers at the base in Rochester, across the UK and overseas.
* Order parts, brief and manage sub-contractors, build training rigs, research technical issues, write course notes and deliver training sessions.
* Contribute to the general activities involved in running a small business within a growing company.
Qualifications and Skills
* Electrical or electronics engineering knowledge with relevant qualifications and experience.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical subjects engagingly to an audience.
* Aptitude for identifying improvements and driving change, with effective collaboration within the team.
Details
* Hours: Mainly office hours with flexibility for evenings and weekends. Time off in lieu is allocated when instructors travel to distant work locations on Sundays or outside normal hours.
* Remuneration: Salary £52k with 25 days holiday plus a profit-related bonus.
* Expenses: Reimbursement for hotel accommodation and meals when working away.
