Senior Electrical Design Engineer, Glasgow
Our client is a well-established design consultancy with over 30 years of experience in building services, energy, sustainability, lifts, and IT fields, based in Glasgow's city centre.
Their team of experts covers all traditional building services elements, enhanced by their skillset in energy and sustainability with BREEAM accreditation.
The majority of their projects are intricate, complex, and unique MOD and defence contracts, requiring high standards of work across the board.
Due to the nature of their work, all candidates must hold or meet the criteria to obtain Security Clearance to MOD SC level.
Your new role
* Understanding project briefs and designing/specifying all electrical building services systems, including power, earthing, lighting, life safety, telecommunications, security, access control, lifts, lightning protection, etc.
* Carrying out (and managing others in) detailed calculations using industry-standard software such as Dialux, Amtech, Excel, etc.
* Representing the organization at meetings with clients and contractors.
* Conducting site surveys, inspections, and monitoring site works.
* Writing reports and technical notes.
* Maintaining complete records and archives according to company standards.
* Adhering to all quality, environmental, and health and safety processes.
What you'll need to succeed
* A degree or equivalent qualification in Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
* At least 5 years of experience in electrical design engineering on building services projects.
* Strong knowledge of electrical systems and building codes.
* Experience working in a design consultancy and/or within a contractor design environment is essential.
* Detailed knowledge of relevant technical standards.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
