Your new company A successful transport business in the Grimsby area, recruiting through Hays for an Import Coordinator. Your new role Role Purpose
To support the logistics and shipping operations by managing customer data, coordinating cargo movements, handling customs documentation, and liaising with vessels, suppliers, and port authorities. This role requires strong attention to detail, familiarity with logistics systems, and effective communication skills.
Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer and System Management
Build and maintain electronic customer files using data from SAP and Microsoft Dynamics.
Use the SAP IT system to manage bookings and generate quotations.
Contact customers to obtain delivery instructions and required shipping documentation.
Customs and Regulatory Compliance
Create customs entries using Descartes, Destin8, CDS, and IPAFFS platforms.
Submit documentation for vessel arrivals and departures in compliance with port regulations.
Report vessel movements and related information to port authorities.
Cargo Coordination
Arrange delivery of cargo through third-party hauliers.
Coordinate the collection of cargo from the terminal or warehouse.
Produce discharge lists for terminals to support unloading and logistics planning.
