Our client is looking for ecologists at various skill levels across their offices based in Manchester, West Devon and the East Midlands. Working on a variety of projects, with regular clients across the residential andmercial sectors.
They are offering a great opportunity to join a busy, established Ecology Consultancy with unlimited development and progression opportunities.
Your new role
The main responsibilities of this role will include:
1. Leading a diverse range of habitat and protected species surveys
2. Producing high-quality reports, including PEAs, EcIAs, and management plans
3. Providing planning, mitigation, and licencing advice to clients
4. Mentoring junior consultants and contributing to team development
5. Working with purpose-led clients across sectors such as infrastructure, energy, and development
6. Driving innovation in biodiversity net gain, nature-based solutions, and ecological strategy
What you'll need to succeed
7. A minimum of 2 years environmental consultancy experience
8. The ability to work independently and as part of a team, sometimes in remote locations
9. The ability to plan/deliver basic habitat and protected species surveys / reports ( PEA, UK Habs, BNG assessments, bats, Badger, Water Vole, etc.).
10. Full UK driving licence and use of a car.
11. Goodmunication skills, both in-house and with clients.
12. Good report writing skills.
13. Experience preparing fee proposals.
14. Experience undertaking risk assessments.
15. Experience managing simple projects.
16. Be able to manage and analyse data.
17. Experience using GIS Mapping.
What you'll get in return
18. Annual salary of £30,000 - £45,000 (DOE)
19. Hybrid working in Manchester, hybrid/home-working in the East Midlands and South-west.
