We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Engineer to join our team. The role involves ensuring the highest standards of quality in the design, fabrication, and testing of process piping systems and pressure vessels. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in documentation, ITPs, NDT procedures, pressure testing, and compliance with standards such as ASME, BS EN ISO, ISO 9001, and PED.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and promote a positive quality culture across the business and sites.
* Assist in developing and implementing quality procedures, standards, and specifications; review customer requirements to ensure compliance.
* Support production issues related to quality on a daily basis.
* Communicate with suppliers, customers, and internal departments on quality matters.
* Prepare, review, and revise technical files and project quality documents.
* Provide advice on UKCA and CE marking processes.
* Investigate non-conforming incidents, produce reports, and help implement remedial actions.
* Participate in lessons learned meetings at project start-up and completion.
* Ensure technical documents are up-to-date and properly logged during project handover.
* Plan and conduct ISO 9001 audits and spot checks for compliance.
* Report on quality KPIs and present findings to management.
* Support external third-party audits with documentation and records.
* Conduct training on quality procedures.
* Ensure documentation complies with relevant standards such as ASME, ISO 9001, PED.
* Create and follow Project ITPs.
* Coordinate data and documentation gathering with engineering and quality teams.
* Maintain records of MTCs, NCRs, and pressure test results.
* Support audit processes with accurate documentation.
* Develop SOPs and work instructions.
* Coordinate and witness hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure tests.
* Oversee document control of MTCs, inspection records, and quality documentation.
* Ensure compliance with standards like BS EN ISO 3834, 1090, 15614, 9606, ASME Section VIII, B31.3, BPE, PED.
* Provide training and guidance to production teams on quality standards.
Skills and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a quality role within fabrication or pressure vessel manufacturing.
* Familiarity with industry standards such as ASME, BS EN ISO, ISO 9001, PED.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems.
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
