We are looking to appoint highly motivated apprentices with strong aspirations to pursue an engineering career within a leading UK civil engineering & construction organisation. \n\nAs a Civil Engineer apprentice, you will be placed on one of our many UK construction sites and be involved in the different site activities, where you will be exposed to: \n\nDimensional control of site works. \nUnderstanding engineering requirements of a project. \nPlanning of site activities. \nReading of site documents: Site drawings, specifications, standards. \nAnd many more! \n \nOur civil engineering works cover a wide range of engineering activities, such as tunnelling, rail projects, heavy civils, drainage works, bridge repair and replacements. \n\nWorking as an apprentice civil engineer at Murphy you will learn how to be responsible for the daily control, management, and coordination of construction activities on site to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and to the required safety, environmental and quality standards. Your responsibilities will increase throughout the duration of the apprenticeship programme as your skills and technical knowledge develop. \n\n \nKey requirements will include:\n\nAlways observing health and safety regulations. \nShadowing project teams senior staff members, asking questions, and assisting wherever possible. \nParticipating in meetings and attending workshops and other training initiatives. \nTaking notes and sharing your findings with your supervisor and other relevant stakeholders. \nEstablishing professional relationships with staff. \nMaintaining a high degree of professionalism and diligence. \nContribute to continuous improvement activities. \nSupport and participate in process improvement activities. \nWrite reports and provide information to management. Due to the remote locations of some of our sites, applicants must be willing to travel as required.\n\nDue to the nature of our work and size of our sites, we may require you to have a full clean UK driving licence. \n\nCivil Engineering Modern Apprenticeships in Scotland typically require applicants to be at least 16 years old\nHave attained or be on track to achieve 3-5 SQA Highers (including Maths/Science) or a Foundation Apprenticeship\nYou donât need to have previous experience for the role, but you do need to be ready to learn, have a positive mindset and a can-do attitude! \nEligible to work in the UK with a valid work permit if applicable.
