What we need in a nutshell
We are now recruiting for our 2026 season across various roles! We love creating exciting dining concepts across our locations and finding talented chefs to take them forward. In this Line Chef role you will be preparing and cooking for a busy restaurant, delivering delight to our guests.
Who we are?
Sandy Balls Holiday Village is a world away from your day to day, with more trees than you can… well, shake a stick at. We have resident alpacas, a bush-craft school and forest laser tag, along with the usual holiday heroes of cycling and swimming. But New Forest holidays are also about tranquillity, which is why our Retreat spa and cosy, cottage-style lodges and caravans are here to help our guests unwind.

What you’ll be doing
You will be in the thick of the action with your team, ensuring that meals are prepped, cooked and served to our exacting standards, from the simplest salad to the seasonal specials. This includes:
1. Assuming responsibility for consistent and prompt food preparation and ensuring all our meals meet our high standards
2. Helping the team to comply with agreed specifications of all dishes, ensuring correct portion sizes are followed and waste is closely managed
3. Ensuring safe, clean, hygienic and tidy workspaces within the kitchen, always complying with all food hygiene and safety regulations
4. Helping to control food margins through effective stock management, knowledge of product specifications and team coaching
One more thing…holidays happen at holiday times, so you’ll need to work your magic on bank holidays and weekends too.
Skills, experience and qualities you’ll need
We are looking for an experienced chef who is an enthusiastic team player and can demonstrate the following:
5. Level Two Hygiene Certificate
6. 1-2 years’ experience working as a line cook, commis chef or chef de partie
7. Exceptional communication skills
8. Good organisation skills and able to identify and solve problems
9. A real passion for food, and bags of enthusiasm
10. Resilience under pressure
It’s the icing on the cake if you have kitchen experience on a busy holiday park and you have experience of supervising others.
