Role Overview
Bedford Girls’ School is seeking a reliable and professional Minibus Driver to join our team. This role is key in ensuring the safe and efficient transport of students and staff to and from school events. The successful applicant will have a current, clean and valid driving licence with D1 entitlement (unrestricted or obtained prior to 1 January 1997), with a PCV licence considered an advantage. They will have a good standard of education, demonstrate effective communication skills, and be confident in engaging with both children and staff. They will be reliable and bring a positive, can-do attitude to their work. Ideally, they will also have previous experience of working with children and transporting passengers in a similar role.
Key Responsibilities
* Driving students and staff to and from events, ensuring their safety, comfort, and welfare at all times.
* Maintaining the cleanliness and roadworthiness of school vehicles, including refuelling as required.
* Reporting any vehicle defects, faults, incidents, or accidents in line with school procedures.
* Ensuring accurate vehicle and user records are maintained.
* Supporting the school in meeting health, safety, and safeguarding obligations.
Qualifications
