Health, Safety, Safeguarding & Wellbeing Officer
Home-based with regional travel
£35,000 - £40,000 + mileage
Full-time, 35 hours/week
About the Organisation
We're working with a leading national apprenticeship training provider (Ofsted Grade 2), supporting over 8,500 apprentices across the UK through both direct and subcontracted delivery.
The Role
You'll champion health, safety, safeguarding and wellbeing across the organisation, ensuring compliance and promoting a positive culture for learners, staff, and partners. This includes conducting audits, investigating incidents, managing risk, and collaborating closely with safeguarding teams to support learners' physical and emotional wellbeing.
My client are happy to consider:
1. Either safeguarding and wellbeing professionals who are open to upskilling in Health & Safety
2. Or Health & Safety experts who are happy upskilling on the safeguarding, wellbeing and pastoral support side of the role
Key Duties
* Maintain and review H&S policies and ensure legislative compliance
* Audit delivery partners and manage risk assessments
* Investigate accidents/incidents and handle RIDDOR reporting
* Lead on apprentice medical assessments and wellbeing plans
* Work collaboratively with safeguarding colleagues
What You'll Need
* NEBOSH certificate (or significant H&S experience including RIDDOR)
* Experience in H&S within education, apprenticeships or training
* Strong understanding of H&S legislation
* Confident communicator with strong IT skills
* Full driving licence and access to a vehicle
Desirable
* Safeguarding qualification or related experience
* Educated to degree level or equivalent
