Job Description:

Job purpose

We are seeking a motivated and charismatic individual to join our admissions team on a full-time basis. This role will primarily focus on student recruitment, particularly engaging with prospective students from countries in Africa and the Middle East. The ideal candidate will have sales experience, be willing to travel to African and Middle Eastern countries on a regular basis, and be fluent in Arabic, with fluency in other languages being desirable.

Beyond recruitment, this role involves maintaining strong relationships with the students you have recruited, as well as their families, once they join Ashbourne. The successful candidate will help ensure a consistent cohort of 25 students from Africa and the Middle East at the college while fostering a welcoming and supportive environment.

About Ashbourne

Established over 40 years ago, Ashbourne has become one of the best private colleges for A levels in the UK. It distinguishes itself through excellent exam results, individual attention, and facilities, aiming to be the best college overall for A levels in the UK.

Ethos and culture

At Ashbourne, there are no uniforms, no assemblies, no school dinners, and relations between teachers and students are informal, vital, and strong. Small classes encourage engagement and a close relationship between students and teachers. The college is selective, reserving the right to deny progression from year 12 to year 13 if academic standards are not met. All students are expected to work hard and submit 100% of homework, fostering a culture of high achievement.

About the College

Ashbourne is a sixth-form college where most students pursue A levels, seeking a more mature approach to education with greater freedom and responsibility. The college offers a different approach to traditional schooling, emphasizing individual growth and academic excellence.

Academic performance

The college consistently ranks first or second among private colleges in London and is in the top 5% of schools and colleges by value-added metrics.

Individual attention

Small class sizes and personal tutors support tailored academic guidance and monitor student progress, fostering a supportive environment.

Welfare

Support services and strict policies against bullying and abuse contribute to student success and well-being.

Location

Located near Kensington Gardens, Ashbourne offers a spectacular setting within reach of London's cultural opportunities.

Ashbourne community

The community is diverse, with 70% British students and up to 50 nationalities, offering a rich cultural environment.

Academic opportunities

The college offers a wide range of subjects, including arts, humanities, sciences, and economics, catering to diverse talents and ambitions.

Extra-curricular opportunities

Activities include Model United Nations, astrophysics, and performing arts, providing a stimulating environment.

Intensive courses

In addition to two-year A levels, the college offers one-year intensive and 18-month courses starting in January for GCSE and A level students.

Scholarships

A generous scholarship program supports outstanding students, especially in music and drama.

Happiness

The college promotes a supportive community where students support each other, free from cliques and snobbery.
