Position
A Specialist SEN school in Swindon is looking for a Mental Health Assistant to join their team on a full‑time basis, starting now or in January, depending on your availability. The school caters to students with a range of social, emotional, and mental health needs, including children with complex trauma, attachment disorders, generalised anxiety, and behaviour difficulties.
Key Responsibilities
* Support students throughout the school day, aiding both academic learning and interpersonal skills.
* Follow therapeutic practice, helping each child regulate their emotions and cope with daily mental challenges.
* Provide general assistance to class teachers and liaise with on‑site psychologists and therapists to ensure each child maximises their learning outcomes.
Qualifications & Experience
* Graduate (Psychology or Criminology preferred), or soon to graduate.
* Open‑mind, resilient, passionate about mental health, and ready for a challenge.
* Previous experience working with children or additional needs is excellent.
* Enthusiasm and a positive attitude are essential.
Schedule & Pay
Monday to Friday, 08:30–15:30
£85 to £95 per day
