Key responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging and challenging English lessons across KS3-KS5
* Assess, monitor and report on student progress, adapting teaching to meet individual needs
* Promote high standards of behaviour and establish a positive learning environment
* Contribute to curriculum development within the English department
* Support students to develop strong literacy, critical thinking and analytical skills
* Participate in wider school life, including enrichment and extracurricular activities
* Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and the wider school community
What we’re looking for
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Strong subject knowledge and passion for English
* Experience teaching in a secondary setting (or strong ECT potential)
* High expectations of student achievement and behaviour
* Ability to engage and inspire learners of all abilities
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students
* Reflective, proactive and committed to continuous professional development
