About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced Pension Solicitor to join a dynamic Defined Benefits Legal team within a leading insurance organisation. This is a pivotal role offering autonomy and influence, where you will deliver high-quality legal support across complex transactions and strategic initiatives. You’ll work at the heart of a business that is shaping the future of pension risk management, providing expert advice in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as a trusted legal advisor on DB pension schemes, transactional matters, and contractual negotiations.
* Collaborate with senior leadership and legal colleagues to achieve strategic objectives.
* Manage and deliver project-related legal activity efficiently and on time.
* Identify, monitor, and mitigate legal risks in line with organisational risk frameworks.
* Keep senior counsel informed of emerging risks and developments.
What We’re Looking For
* Qualified solicitor or barrister with substantial post-qualification experience.
* Expertise in Pensions law, particularly Defined Benefit schemes (experience with DC schemes is advantageous).
* Familiarity with insurance and reinsurance law is desirable.
* Proven track record in DB de-risking and Bulk Purchase Annuity (BPA) contracts.
* Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
* Commercially minded, pragmatic, and solutions-focused approach.
* Ability to thrive under pressure in high-volume transactional environments.
* PQE level is given as a guide only. Candidates with more or less experience are welcome to apply.
