Lucy Legal LLP is a forward-thinking commercial practice built on the principle that excellent legal work shouldn't come at the expense of genuine client relationships. We've carved out a reputation in the Midlands for delivering sharp, pragmatic advice across corporate and commercial matters, and our conveyancing team sits at the heart of that offering. We're growing steadily, and we're looking for someone who shares our belief that good lawyering is about clarity, diligence, and knowing your clients' businesses as well as you know the law.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a commercial conveyancing practice that's experiencing real momentum. You'll work on a diverse portfolio of transactions - from high-value property acquisitions and refinancing deals to complex development arrangements and lease negotiations. This isn't a back-office conveyancing role; you'll have genuine client contact, take ownership of transactions from inception through completion, and build relationships that matter. The role offers real variety and the chance to develop genuine expertise in a practice area that's central to commercial law.
Your day-to-day will involve managing the full lifecycle of commercial property transactions. You'll conduct due diligence on titles and searches, review and negotiate contracts and ancillary documentation, liaise with surveyors, lenders, and counterparties, and guide clients through the practical and legal complexities of their deals. You'll prepare reports on title, identify and resolve legal issues before they become problems, and ensure completions run smoothly. Much of this work is conducted independently, but you'll have access to senior fee-earners who welcome good questions and strategic discussion. You'll also begin to develop your own client relationships -something that accelerates your trajectory significantly.
We invest in people's development here. There's a clear pathway to senior conveyancer and fee-earning partner roles for those with the right combination of technical skill and client acumen. You'll have exposure to increasingly complex transactions, mentoring opportunities, and the space to build specialism. Partners here started as conveyancers themselves, which means progression is based on genuine capability rather than politics.
