Position Overview:
Join us as a Field Service Engineer and become a vital part of our team! You will be the go-to expert for our customers, responding to field repair and service requests with precision and care. Your role will involve diagnosing issues and providing detailed insights to both the customer and Finning, ensuring we deliver quotes that are both cost-effective and timely.
As part of Finning’s industry-leading field service department, you will be at the forefront of our diagnostic and repair capabilities for Caterpillar products, working with the world's largest CAT dealership.
Job Description:
We are looking for someone with a strong customer focus and in-depth knowledge of plant equipment. Your ability to assess customer needs and resolve mechanical or electrical issues safely and efficiently will be key. You will utilize the latest dealer software and repair techniques to deliver top-notch service.
As a Finning Engineer, you will receive:

Main Job Functions:
* Provide timely estimates for arrival at customer sites based on service requests.
* Communicate with site management to register your arrival and adhere to customer procedures.
* Diagnose equipment issues in collaboration with customer operators and supervisors.
* Identify and requisition necessary parts for repairs, ensuring timely delivery.
* Perform repairs and service work according to the agreed work plan.

* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships.
* Excellent planning and organizational skills, even under pressure.
* Effective problem-solving abilities with strong analytical skills.
* Motivated and dynamic self-starter.
Education and Experience:
* Apprentice trained or formally trained Engineer (NVQ Level 3 preferred in Land Based Engineering/Plant Fitting).
* Experience as a field service engineer or a development opportunity for a qualified apprentice.
* Proficient in using field-based diagnostic tools and equipment.
* Knowledge of heavy earth-moving equipment operations.
* Valid LDV driving license.
* Experience with various construction and static machines is essential.
