Ward Clerk - Sherbourne PICU

Ward Clerk - The Caludon Centre - Sherbourne PICU Ward

37.5 hours per week

Band 2

We are looking to recruit to a Ward Clerk position at The Caludon Centre supporting our Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) on one of our Acute Mental Health In-patient Male Wards.

The post-holder will be required to work as part of an integrated and skill-mixed team, providing effective and efficient admin support to the ward, mainly supporting the Ward Manager and ward staff.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for individuals with a positive approach who will be able to build effective working relationships and who will be flexible in their outlook. You will need to be able to multi‑task and work autonomously but also as part of a team.

* Data inputting, collating data information, ordering equipment, food and general supplies.
* Receiving timely and accurate messages, sending e‑mails, scanning documents.
* Keeping up‑to‑date patient records, patient record tracking, sorting the post and deliveries.
* Full training will be provided for systems used, e.g. Carenotes (patient system), Loop, Tracking, etc.

Job responsibilities

The post-holder will need to share our values of compassion, respect and empathy towards service users, carers, and colleagues whilst maintaining the highest standards of courtesy, confidentiality and tact.

* Maintain confidentiality and apply principles in everyday working practice.
* Pay attention to detail where there are predictable interruptions to the work pattern.
* Work effectively and flexibly as part of a team to meet the needs of the services.

Please note that the successful candidate will require a DBS check.

Person Specification


Knowledge

* Good general education (e.g. GCSE English and Maths AC).
* Good communication/customer care skills both written and verbal demonstrating sympathy and compassion.
* Ability to deal professionally with enquiries from staff, service users and stakeholders.
* Understanding of confidentiality and ability to apply principles in everyday practice.


Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
