Our client, a top‑tier national firm with a strong regional presence, is expanding their specialist Medical Accounting team and seeking a talented Manager to join their Cambridge is a fantastic opportunity to step into a senior role within a highly respected practice, working with an established portfolio of medical and healthcare clients while leading and developing a growing team.
The Opportunity
As a Manager within the Medical Accounting team, you will:
1. Manage a portfolio of medical and healthcare clients, including GP practices, consultants, and healthcare providers
2. Oversee your team's client portfolios, ensuring high‑quality delivery and effective workflow planning
3. Drive revenue, profitability, and service excellence across your portfolio
4. Build strong, long‑lasting relationships with medical professionals and practice managers
5. Support, mentor, and develop junior team members
6. Deliver specialist accounting, tax, and advisory services tailored to the healthcare sector
7. Work closely with senior leadership on complex technical matters and business development opportunities
Responsibilities
8. Lead the delivery of accounting, tax, and advisory services to a diverse medical client base
9. Use workflow management tools to plan and manage workloads across your team
10. Act as a key point of contact for clients, ensuring exceptional service and minimal partner escalation
11. Identify opportunities to add value and introduce additional services
12. Ensure all work is compliant, commercially focused, and delivered to a high standard
13. Work both autonomously and collaboratively within a supportive, specialist team
The successful candidate
14. ACA / ACCA / CA qualified (or equivalent)
15. Proven experience managing a client portfolio within an accountancy practice
16. Experience working with medical or healthcare clients, or a strong interest in developing this niche
17. Confident team leader with experience coaching and developing junior staff
18. Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusted client relationships
