Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Utility Consulting Engineer, you will be an integral part of our Mechanical Electrical and Technology team. Your expertise will guide clients—developers and businesses alike—through the complexities of managing electricity, gas, water, and telecoms. Here’s what your day-to-day will look like:
* Conduct feasibility studies and liaise with suppliers.
* Lead utility connection projects (water, gas, electric, telecom) from concept to completion, managing timelines and budgets.
* Act as the main point of contact with utility providers, regulatory bodies, and internal project teams.
* Identify and mitigate utility-related risks, advising on energy/water savings and sustainability targets.
* Ensure compliance with industry regulations and quality standards.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if you:
* Hold or are working towards a degree or equivalent professional qualification in engineering, project management, or a related field.
* Have a solid understanding of the utility industry, particularly in a business-to-business service delivery environment.
* Possess knowledge of the UK utility market and regulatory framework, including competition in connections.
* Demonstrate familiarity with renewable technologies and relevant legislation, such as the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991.

Location: Gerrards Cross
