Are you passionate about teaching and learning? Determined to ensure the highest outcomes for students with SEND? Are you an amazing, creative, calm, professional teacher with the drive to bring out the best in every child?
Due to our continued expansion, the Governors of Lampard Community School are seeking to appoint two fantastic, dedicated and highly skilled teachers to join their successful school. We also have a temporary, 1-year teaching role available, to cover a Maternity leave.
Lampard Community School is an over-subscribed Special School in North Devon, working with children aged 5-16. All students have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), have needs relating to speech, language and communication and are working significantly below age-related expectations.
Our EMPOWER curriculum is unique to the school and has three drivers: communication, independence and emotional wellbeing. We are ambitious for all our students and the vast majority go on to take Entry Level qualifications in Key Stage 4.
This is an exciting opportunity for outstanding and innovative teachers to join our committed team in September 2025. Experience of teaching in a Special School is an advantage but not essential as we will provide ongoing support and training for the right candidates. All applicants must be able to demonstrate their experience of, and commitment to, achieving high outcomes for children with SEND. The successful applicants will teach a variety of subjects but the ability to teach high quality English (including phonics), Maths and PSHE at primary level is essential.
Lampard Community School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults, and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This role requires a DBS disclosure. This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English. Online searches may be done as part of pre-recruitment checks.
School visits are encouraged. If you require more information please telephone 01271 345416 and ask to speak with the Head Teacher, Jennie Harvey.
Please apply by 9am on the closing date.
