The Senior Internal Auditor plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, risk-based assurance that supports our vision of being a trusted advisor. You will lead delivery of audit work, largely focused on the Conduct and Operations space, while also contributing to wider reviews across the Group. Your work will provide clear, value-adding insights that strengthen risk management and control.
You will report to one of our Internal Audit Managers and collaborate with other senior internal auditors across the function to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of our services and deliver our Group internal audit plan.
Specifically you will:
* Manage and undertake internal audit reviews, working closely with an Internal Audit Manager to ensure reviews are risk-based, add value and are delivered in accordance with our internal audit methodology and regulatory requirements.
* Deliver end to end audits, including communicating observations and agreeing actions, and producing impactful, high quality reporting.
* Update awareness of risk issues and changes across relevant business areas and use this knowledge to update audit focus where necessary.
* Assist in embedding the use of data analytics and agile ways of working as part of our core audit delivery.
* Build trusting and open relationships with colleagues on each audit and develop relationships across the business. This includes professional working relationships, both internally and externally.
* Maintain continual professional development with regard to internal audit, industry, sectoral and regulatory requirements.
About You
You may have external audit experience and be looking to make a first leap into industry or you may already be doing a similar role and looking to move into an ambitious organisation.
Experience of financial services is not essential, however the drive and desire to build on your existing experience or grow quickly into the role will be central to your success. Don't worry - we will support you every step of the way
You will be credible and influential, confident working and influencing people of all levels, and have a proven track record for developing positive working relationships.
You will have first class communication and report writing skills, able to express ideas with conviction and authority.
Ideally, you will have experience of working with data analytics, and may have also experienced working with agile practices in an internal audit setting.
Being a qualified (e.g. ACA, IIA, CISA etc.) audit professional would also be advantageous.

Its primary role is to help the Board and Executive Management protect the assets, reputation and sustainability of the business. The function reports directly to the Audit Committee and our remit covers the whole Group.
