Metastatic Breast Clinical Nurse Specialist Band 7
In partnership with the existing Breast Cancer Specialist team this autonomous role will coordinate services and provide support to patients with metastatic breast cancer and their carers/families from diagnosis, throughout treatment and ongoing supportive care.
The post holder will act as key worker and utilize expert knowledge to provide comprehensive specialist advice, information and psychological support to patients with a diagnosis of metastatic breast cancer.
The post holder will work clinically and strategically with the Clinicians, Lead Cancer Nurse and Cancer Nurse Specialist Lead and support the wider members of the Breast Multidisciplinary team.
The post holder will be responsible for the development of innovative nursing practice and the provision of specialist advice within their field.
The post holder will be an educational resource to all members of the MDT and the wider trust and facilitate the development of nurses and healthcare staff in order to improve the patient experience.
This role is based in Poole Hospital but will involve times of cross site working.
This role requires NMC Registration.

Qualifications
* nursing qualification at degree or higher
* NMC registration
* advanced communication skills
* Psychological support level 2 trained
* recognised leadership or management course
* physical assessment course
* non-medical prescribing
Experience
* Band 6 experience or above
* SACT administration
* evidence of triaging and managing acutely unwell patients
* participation in nurse-led clinics
Knowledge
* knowledge of oncology policies
* awareness of national cancer guidance
* awareness of accend and related competencies
Skills
* managing own workload
* organised and flexible
* ability to work in a team
