Hussmann’s team of Technicians installs commercial refrigeration in supermarkets, convenience stores, and cold storage facilities. The role focuses on timely project completion, customer satisfaction, and effective project management in a fast‑paced environment.
Responsibilities
* Ensure timely completion of assigned projects and maintain customer satisfaction.
* Plan and schedule work activities, determine sequences, and assign tasks based on priority, equipment quantity, and personnel skill.
* Communicate with customers, building owners, mechanical contractors, subcontractors, and field support staff.
* Ensure compliance with internal contracting processes, including customer-specific documentation and close‑out procedures.
* Maintain accuracy of forecasted cost at completion by reviewing hours worked and material costs; discuss scope, budgets, and performance with contractors and owners.
* Coordinate on‑site installation or remodel jobs, supervising installers and helpers, and requisition materials and supplies.
* Read, interpret, and analyze plans, specifications, contract documents, and regulatory requirements related to installation of cabling, communication loops, energy management, and refrigerant leak systems.
* Inspect work areas, evaluate tools and equipment, provide safety training, and enforce safety rules to prevent and correct unsafe conditions.
* Manage multiple priorities with minimal guidance while delegating tasks and motivating team members.
* Act as a project manager, facilitating smooth coordination among site personnel and stakeholders.
Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent; or ten years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Preferred: Technical degree (e.g., HVAC/R).
* Minimum five years of commercial refrigeration experience.
* EPA 608 Certification preferred but not required.
* Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
* Physical ability to climb ladders, work at high elevations, and lift objects up to 50 pounds.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, detail orientation, and strong motivation.
* Mechanical aptitude and strong customer focus.
* Ability to work nights, weekends, and out of town as required.
* Strong organizational, time‑management, and project‑management skills.
* Proficiency in reading and applying plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
* Demonstrated ability to make decisions, learn quickly, think rationally, and exercise good judgment.
* Capability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
