Year 4 Teacher Responsibilities
• Plan coherent, knowledge-rich maths and English sequences as the Year 4 Teacher.
• Use assessment to personalise learning and run focused interventions as the Year 4 Teacher.
• Lead enrichment, trips and cross-curricular projects and contribute to subject development as the Year 4 Teacher.
• Work with colleagues in KS2 and attend moderation sessions scheduled before and after January 2026 as the Year 4 Teacher.
Year 4 Teacher Requirements
• QTS and solid KS2 experience expected of the Year 4 Teacher.
• A Year 4 Teacher with strong subject knowledge, effective behaviour strategies and a collaborative spirit.
• Available to prepare prior to January 2026, attend induction in January 2026, and teach as a Full-Time Year 4 Teacher from January 2026.
Curriculum leadership & development for the Year 4 Teacher
The Year 4 Teacher will have opportunities to lead a subject strand, develop schemes of learning and mentor colleagues within the KS2 phase. The Year 4 Teacher will participate in subject development meetings beginning prior to January 2026 and will contribute to the school's improvement plan after the January 2026 start. This Full-Time Year 4 Teacher role allows the Year 4 Teacher to refine assessment practice and to trial research-informed approaches.
