The Fleet Services Team undertakes an essential role to ensure the safe and legal operation of the Council's fleet and workforce. This helps the Council fulfill its legal and moral obligations regarding the provision of various statutory services.
The Team manages a diverse fleet including waste and recycling vehicles, street scene equipment, pool cars, gritters, tipper trucks, coaches, minibuses, library vans, and fire appliances. It also maintains over 1,000 items of plant such as trailers, mowers, and power tools. Additionally, the Team provides fleet management services, including procurement of bulk fuel, fuel cards, vehicle telematics, administration of pool car schemes, vehicle insurance, taxation, and support for procurement exercises. The Team is also responsible for fleet compliance and training to ensure vehicles and drivers meet relevant legislation and guidance.
Who we are looking for…
We are recruiting two Project Officers for Fleet Services. The successful candidates will work within a small team, supporting the wider Fleet Services team to deliver projects that impact all major service areas of the council. We seek individuals who align with Westmorland and Furness Council’s values and are passionate about building and growing with the team.
