Child Panel Solicitor/ Legal Executive
London – Salary negotiable based on experience
My client is a Legal 500 law firm seeking a Child Panel Solicitor to join their highly regarded firm in South East London.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Representing Children in Care Proceedings: Provide legal representation for children in care proceedings, advocating for their rights and interests in court.
2. Advising on Care and Child Protection Matters: Offer legal advice to children, guardians, and families on care proceedings, child protection, and family law issues.
3. Conducting Advocacy: Act as an advocate in court, presenting cases, cross-examining witnesses, and making submissions on behalf of children or their guardians.
4. Case Management: Manage a caseload of complex care proceedings, ensuring thorough preparation, evidence gathering, drafting documents, and liaising with professionals.
5. Client Care and Communication: Maintain high standards of client care with clear, empathetic, and effective communication with children, families, and professionals.
6. Collaborating with Multidisciplinary Teams: Work closely with social workers, guardians, medical experts, and others to gather information and develop case strategies.
7. Legal Aid Management: Ensure compliance with legal aid regulations and manage financial aspects, including legal aid funding applications.
8. Court Documentation and Reporting: Draft and review court documents, ensuring accuracy and legal standards adherence.
9. Training and Development: Engage in ongoing professional development through training, seminars, and workshops.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Experienced Childcare Solicitor (must be Child Panel accredited)
* Proficient in advising on Care proceedings and legally aided matters
* Experience with complex cases involving medical issues is advantageous
* Prior experience representing children in care proceedings
* Excellent client care and communication skills
