Behavioural Support Worker – Newport Do you have a passion for guiding young learners through their challenges and helping them build brighter futures? We are currently seeking dedicated Behavioural Support Workers to join a number of welcoming primary and alternative provision schools across Newport. This is an exciting opportunity for those who are enthusiastic about supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, ADHD, and anxiety-based behaviours. Whether you're experienced in education or considering a move into the sector, this role offers a fulfilling route into meaningful support work within education. What You’ll Be Doing: Delivering one-on-one and small group support aimed at improving emotional well-being and behavioural development Promoting an inclusive, nurturing environment where all children feel respected, valued, and ready to learn Working closely with pupils experiencing challenges linked to SEMH, ADHD, and anxiety Assisting in the development and implementation of behaviour plans tailored to each student's needs Building strong, positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families to support long-term progress Helping students build confidence, communication skills, and emotional regulation techniques What We’re Looking For: Someone with (or willing to obtain) Team Teach certification – training can be provided A caring and approachable individual who can quickly build rapport with children Calm, consistent, and patient when supporting students through difficult moments Clear and confident communicator, able to work well with both pupils and staff Good standard of written and spoken English Ideally, some experience with SEND, mental health, or in a care/support setting – though this is not essential Availability for full-time hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm) EWC registration (or willingness to register with our guidance) What’s in It for You?
