We are seeking a Specialist Podiatrist to deliver evidence-based podiatry across NHS sites including clinics, GP surgeries, hospitals, patient homes and nursing homes within the North locality. The role covers Alnwick and additional sites such as Berwick.
Responsibilities
* Provide autonomous, high-standard clinical care across community and acute settings.
* Develop and implement professional, quality-planned podiatry programmes for a specified caseload of patients based on clinical needs.
* Offer specialist care to maintain mobility, independence, tissue viability and relieve discomfort for patients with diabetes, circulatory disorders, neuropathy, rheumatoid arthritis and biomechanical pathologies.
* Act as a source of professional advice to patients, carers, GPs and other healthcare professionals within a multidisciplinary team.
* Support and mentor podiatry students, podiatry assistants and newly qualified staff.
* Contribute to the development of the Podiatry Department and adhere to Trust and departmental policies, procedures and objectives.
* Model compassionate and inclusive leadership that engages, empowers and facilitates team working and collaboration across organisational boundaries.
Qualifications
* Post-registration experience as a podiatrist within the NHS.
* Completion of a Band 6 competency-based programme, or equivalent.
* Proven ability to work autonomously without direct supervision.
* Strong communication and leadership skills and a willingness to support others.
* Dedication to delivering evidence-based practice and continuous improvement.
