Are you passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you want to make a real difference in a specialist school setting? We are looking for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a well-established SEN school in Croydon.
What we're looking for:
Experience working with children with SEMH needs or in an SEN environment (desired but not essential)
A calm, resilient and proactive approach
Strong communication and behaviour management skills
MAPA (Management of Actual or Potential Aggression) training - this is an essential requirement for the role
Someone who thrives in a supportive, team-focused environment
Role responsibilities:
Supporting students with SEMH needs on a 1:1 and small-group basis
Assisting the class teacher with daily learning activities
Helping create a safe, positive and engaging learning environment
Implementing behaviour plans and de-escalation strategies
Building strong, trusting relationships with students
