The Role
As a Technical Business Development Manager you will develop and execute a growth strategy focused on expanding our success in the public transport sector by leading customer engagement, identifying future opportunities, informing and analysing customer requirements, and driving sales of our transport solutions.
How to make an impact
Presales & Technical Support
1. Define and analyse customer requirements in collaboration with sales and engineering teams.
2. Lead the preparation of technical proposals and tender responses.
3. Support marketing initiatives, including campaigns and technical content.
Sales & Business Development
4. Build and manage a sales pipeline for fare collection systems to meet and exceed targets.
5. Promote products and services to position for future sales opportunities.
6. Manage key accounts and identify new business within the public transport sector.
7. Analyse customer needs and lead the development of competitive bids and proposals.
Client & Market Engagement
8. Develop strategic relationships with public transport operators, consultants, suppliers, and partners.
9. Visit clients and stakeholders to gather market intelligence and strengthen relationships.
10. Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and exhibitions.
11. Provide regular market insights and contribute to product & service improvement.
Process & Reporting
12. Ensure accurate CRM management and reporting, including timely submission of sales and activity updates.
13. Adhere to internal governance procedures and maintain clear, professional communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Your background
14. Demonstrated success in complex, solution-based sales environments
15. Proven experience in B2B business development for technology solutions
16. Strong background in customer relationship management and account growth
17. Skilled in preparing and submitting proposals and public tenders
18. Previous experience could include presales engineering, system operations or systems engineering ideally
19. Experience in public transport, particularly fare collection systems or related payments, services or mobile app systems preferred but not essential
