NRL is working with a leading global business whose organisation supports major international energy, mining, power and infrastructure clients, handling complex cargo movements through ports and project sites worldwide.
We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager to lead and strengthen safety culture across their global project logistics and freight forwarding operations.
The role requires a professional who understands the realities of heavy logistics operations, port environments, lifting operations, transport risk and project site safety.
You will act as a visible safety leader, supporting operational teams, advising management and ensuring that the highest standards of safety governance are consistently applied across their global business.
This is a leadership role requiring credibility, strong communication and the ability to engage confidently with both operational personnel and senior client representatives.
PURPOSE OF JOB:
To lead and strengthen safety culture across our global project logistics and freight forwarding operations.
To act as a visible safety leader, supporting operational teams, advising management and ensuring that the highest standards of safety governance are consistently applied across our global business.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES (listed but not exhaustive to):
Lead the development and implementation of the company’s global HSE strategy.
Promote a strong and practical safety culture across all offices, logistics hubs and project locations.
Act as the central point of expertise on safety matters within the organisation.
Provide leadership and guidance to operational teams handling heavy and abnormal cargo.
Strengthen subcontractor management and engagement
Working parallel to the heavy lift engineering team on major projects
Support global tendering with HSE documentation
Support project implementation with HSE plans, subcontractor management and personnel onboarding
Support engineering and ops with load outs of HL/OOG cargo including documentation review
Oversight of high volume activities such as road transport
Lead and support ISO audits
Warehousing / laydown oversight
HSE reporting
Incident investigation and reporting
Roll out lessons learned
Drive HSE awareness, near miss reporting
Monitor personnel travel to high risk countries
Office HSE standards

Proven experience in logistics, heavy transport, ports or project operations environments.
Experience supporting safety in lifting operations and heavy cargo handling.
Working knowledge of LOLER regulations and lifting compliance frameworks.
Experience operating within international project environments.
Familiarity with HSE expectations of major global energy and mining clients.
