Position Overview
We are looking for an IT Support Analyst with the mission to provide onsite IT support to the Coventry Technical centre users, supporting all functional areas including Lear users located at customer locations (Gaydon, Whitley, Solihull, Birmingham, and Oxford Road site).
Main Responsibilities :
1. Providing 1st/2nd line technical support and problem analysis/rectification.
2. Complete Monthend and quarterly Savsys process in the AS400/BPCS environment (End of Month weekend work on a rota).
3. Providing support for office IT equipment and software by problem solving and user training enabling productive/efficient practices.
4. Upgrade hardware/software to meet user requirements to increase productivity and maintain stability.
5. Ensure communication stability/performance of the LAN/WAN by monitoring and solving issues.
6. Follow established procedures of backup routines and system monitoring to ensure data integrity, security (Patching tasks / Monthly Server Patching) and accuracy.
7. Ensure documentation and procedures are maintained and improved upon to enable smooth operations, sustain a knowledge base, self-reliance and an accruable history database.
8. Plan and perform appropriate preventative maintenance by ensuring regular contractual maintenance on all essential equipment to ensure minimum downtime.
9. Ensuring maximum availability of all computer systems throughout the site, including hardware, networks, IT security and telecommunications.
10. Provide support for mobile peripheral devices.
11. Ensure smooth operation/support of the IT operations by monitoring and resolving issues.
12. Sustain stock of IT consumables as required to maintain daily operations of all IT equipment.
13. Project work based on long range planning tasks.
14. Complete end user IT kit moves, cabling desks in floor ports and Comms cabinet.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
15. IT Related Degree / HND
16. ICT Systems Support
17. MS 365 Certified (fundamentals)
18. 3 years work experience in IT System Support Environment (1st line)
19. Hardware – Dell Servers, Cisco wired and wireless infrastructures and Lenovo / Dell / HP Workstations & Laptops.
20. Software:
Windows Server 2016 / 2019 / 2022
Windows 10/11 Workstations & MS Office 365
Microsoft SQL
Avamar backup software
Comms – Cisco networking experience including Switches and Wireless Access points, TCP/IP
protocol, VPN (DUO/Okta), DHCP, DNS & Routing.
Cabling – structured cabling system, category 5 Ethernet & fibre
21. Experience in a 1st to 2nd line support, preferably with relevant responsibilities.
22. Strong technical problem resolving skills
23. Able to act on own initiative
24. Ability to deal with people at all levels of the organisation
