Overview
:
1. Support the delivery of Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 within a specialist secondary setting
2. Lead small group interventions and provide targeted one-to-one support for students with additional learning needs
3. Assist teachers with lesson preparation, practical activities, classroom organisation, and differentiated learning materials
4. Promote student engagement, independence, and confidence within Science lessons
5. Support students with emotional regulation, behaviour management, and communication needs using calm and consistent approaches
6. Deliver planned learning activities under teacher direction and support pupils in accessing the curriculum at an appropriate level
7. Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SEN professionals, and pastoral teams to support student progress and wellbeing
8. Help maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
About You:
9. Previous experience working with young people with SEN, ideally within a secondary or specialist school setting
10. Experience supporting students with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, PMLD, or learning difficulties
11. Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
12. Confident supporting Science lessons and practical classroom activities
13. HLTA qualification or substantial classroom support experience preferred
14. Patient, proactive, and able to build positive relationships with students and staff
15. Strong communication and teamwork skills
