Full Time 37 Hours

There is an exciting opportunity for an experienced registered nurse to work with the well-established specialist nursing teams within Cardiology. The successful applicant will become an integral part of the specialist nursing team. You will be supported not only to develop your skills and knowledge within the speciality but also to develop an understanding of the key skills and attributes of the specialist nurse role. You will support the existing team members to provide specialist nursing interventions to patients with a range of cardiac diseases and conditions. This includes the assessment of newly diagnosed acute coronary syndrome, myocardial infarction, arrhythmia, post-surgery patients, and the review and assessment of patients in outpatient clinics settings.
The post holder will assist in leading the delivery of nurse-led cardiac care for patients across Tayside & North East Fife across a range of cardiac specialties, with an initial focus on cardiac rehabilitation, along with the development of knowledge and skills within arrhythmia and heart failure. The post involves working closely with all members of the multidisciplinary team over primary and secondary care and requires the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision. While based in Ninewells Hospital, the post holder may be asked to deliver services across Tayside.
You must be registered on Sub-part 1: RN1 or RNA or Sub-part 2: RN2 of the UK NMC Register. You will have evidence of continuing professional development and be educated to degree level or working towards it. Experience in a cardiology setting and extensive post-registration experience are required. Ideally, experience in a leadership role with a drive for growth and development.
You will be involved in collaborative working; therefore, strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential. You must be able to travel across Tayside as the post may involve working across all sites, including Angus, PRI, and Ninewells.
