We are seeking a proactive and organised Site Engineer to plan and manage day‑to‑day workfronts for the safe and efficient delivery of ground engineering works. You will ensure full compliance with safety, quality, programme, and commercial requirements while maintaining robust records across your assigned scope.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical & Site Ops: Coordinate labour/plant/materials for the works; ensure compliance with drawings/specs,
2. ITPs, RAMS, permits; keep accurate records.
3. Safety: Conduct level-1 investigations; implement lead toolbox talks; assure permit compliance.
4. Site Briefings: Prepare & deliver daily briefings/toolbox talks; update for method/permit changes; record attendance/actions.
5. Procurement: Translate needs into specs; raise/expedite orders; manage deliveries/off-hire/returns; administer subcontracts.
6. Quality: Draft/execute ITPs for ground engineering works; arrange tests/witnesses; raise/manage NCRs; compile
7. QA handover packs and elaborate QRP’s. Maintain marked-up drawings (red-line / as-builts).
8. Productivity: Track Instantaneous/Industrial Rates for the Rigs vs targets; identify short-interval improvements; report constraints and actions.
9. Leadership & Attitude: Supervise small teams/apprentices; give constructive feedback; handle basic difficult conversations; collaborate with all support teams as needed.
10. Programme: Maintain 2–6 week look-ahead; apply sequence logic; manage free/total float; update progress; delay analysis.
11. Commercial: Raise/track EWs and NCEs; prepare inputs for CEs/quotations; assist cost control.
12. Contractual (NEC4 Option 4 – Alliance): Apply procedures; participate in risk-reduction and change control; support programme acceptance updates.
13. Other (standardisation & versatility): Responsibilities are guidelines to standardise expectations across multidisciplinary projects. Tasks may flex up/down or across teams (operations, technical, commercial, procurement, quality, safety, logistics, etc.) depending on project needs; maintain a proactive, solution-focused attitude. Works may occasionally require weekend or night shifts, so a rotation system may be expected in line with project requirements.
What We’re Looking For:
Essential
14. Degree (or equivalent experience) in Civil/Geotechnical.
15. CSCS.
16. SSSTS/SMSTS.
17. Solid D-Wall/soil mixing/ground engineering competence.
18. Confident with drawings/specs
19. Strong record discipline.
20. Look-ahead planning, float management, EWs/NCEs/CEs, CVR support, working NEC4 Alliance knowledge and notifications.
21. Excel (advanced), Word (advanced), PowerPoint (intermediate), MS Project (intermediate), P6 (basic–intermediate), AutoCAD (intermediate), Cemar (intermediate).
22. Ownership mindset, clear communicator, resilient and collaborative.
Preferred
23. Typically 2-5 years in site/contracts engineering.
24. AP Course.
25. First Aid trained.
