Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced 1:1 SEN Support Practitioner to join our team and provide personalised support to a child with additional needs. This role will involve working closely with the child on a one-to-one basis, supporting their learning, social, and emotional development, and helping them to thrive within an inclusive setting.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide dedicated 1:1 support tailored to the child's individual needs.
* Implement strategies to encourage engagement, independence, and progress in learning and development.
* Support the child's social interactions, communication, and emotional well-being.
* Work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure a consistent and supportive approach.
* Maintain accurate records of the child's progress and contribute to reviews and planning meetings.
* Promote a safe, nurturing, and positive environment.
Essential Requirements
* Previous experience working as a 1:1 SEN support practitioner or teaching assistant.
* Experience within the childcare or education sector, particularly supporting children with additional needs.
* Understanding of strategies to support children with SEN (e.g., autism, speech and language needs, learning difficulties).
* A patient, caring, and empathetic nature with strong communication skills.
* Ability to build trusting relationships with children, families, and staff.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable
* Relevant childcare or SEN qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Early Years, or similar).
* Knowledge of EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans) and how to support targets effectively.
* Training in specific interventions (e.g., speech and language strategies, Makaton, PECS).
