About this Position:
A leading automotive client is seeking a Technical Author – Workshop Information to support the creation and delivery of high-quality Aftersales technical documentation. The role is responsible for producing clear, accurate, and timely workshop information for vehicle systems, ensuring alignment with engineering specifications and product launch schedules. This position plays a crucial role in enabling global retailers and technicians to perform maintenance and repair tasks efficiently and in accordance with brand standards.
Job Responsibilities:

Create, maintain, and update dealer-facing workshop technical information for new product introductions and model year updates.

Interpret Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM) data to produce accurate mechanical and electrical technical content.

Develop and maintain vehicle wiring information and diagrams, ensuring accuracy through structured validation and feedback processes.
*
Produce and update high-quality technical illustrations, ensuring alignment with current automotive standards and supporting new model launches.
*
Manage the publication of information and media in line with corporate procedures and quality standards.
*
Contribute to the development and accuracy of the Technical Parts Catalogue, ensuring fit, form, and function integrity.
*
Collaborate with cross-functional teams across engineering, quality, manufacturing, and other internal departments.
Experience Required:

Completion of a time-served Craft Apprenticeship with practical automotive technician experience.
*
Strong understanding of vehicle systems, repair processes, and Aftersales operations.
*
Proven ability to produce clear, concise technical documentation for varied audiences.
*
Proficiency in digital tools for data retrieval and content management.
*
Knowledge of automotive engineering processes, Aftersales systems, and industry practices.
*
Familiarity with illustration and catalogue systems.
*
Educated to Degree or HND level in Automotive Engineering or a related discipline.
*
