Acorn by SYNERGIE are searching for a Shift E & I Technician to join our client, a highly regulated manufacturer based in Widnes, Cheshire on a 6 month FTC.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager and forming part of a multi-disciplined team, the purpose of the role is to provide electrical and instrumentation support for the production department.
The role is part of a shift team working on a 4 on, 6 off and 4 on, 4 off. These will be 12 hour shifts.
Duties will include:
* Undertaking planned maintenance and overhaul of plant equipment and site facilities.
* Undertaking reactive repair of plant equipment and site facilities.
* Installing new equipment and modifications to existing items.
* Carry out testing, inspection, and reporting of plant condition to pre-determined and self-established schedules.
* Sourcing materials for maintenance tasks within Engineering Stores and purchasing procedures.
* Using the computerised maintenance management system to record task history, and to brief other maintenance staff for job continuity.
Candidates must have:
* A relevant qualification to at least HNC level in a related discipline.
* Certification in 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations.
* Proven experience in achieving objectives within a similar industry environment.
* Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
* Experience with planned preventative maintenance practices.
* Competence in the calibration and maintenance of instrumentation (e.g., level, flow, pressure, temperature, pH).
* Understanding of motors and motor control circuits.
* Familiarity with inverter drives.
* Experience using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS), such as Avantis or SAP.
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
* A valid FLT (Counterbalance) and MEWP licence.
The following would be advantageous:
* Experience with Siemens S7 PLCs (Step7 / TIA Portal).
* Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Profinet, Profibus, and HART.
