Electrical Engineer – Minor New Works Team

About The Role
Mitie is looking for a skilled and motivated electrical engineer to join our Minor New Works team at RAF Mildenhall. You will carry out electrical maintenance, repairs, and installations across a diverse client base—helping to keep facilities safe, secure, and running smoothly. You will be part of a collaborative team that includes plumbers, carpenters, painters, cleaners, and administrators.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain and operate electrical systems safely
* Perform inspections and planned maintenance
* Record findings and remedial actions
* Stay up to date with safety regulations
* Carry out repairs and installations
* Provide excellent customer service
* Support team tasks when needed
* Submit job reports promptly
* Collect parts/materials when authorised
* Complete all tasks efficiently and on schedule
Essential
What We're Looking For
* Level 2/3 City & Guilds 2330 or NVQ Level 3
* Experience in electrical installation & maintenance
* Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills
* Able to work independently and record tasks accurately
* Full UK driving licence
* Familiar with various electrical systems
* Knowledge of information security protocols
* Eligible for MOD & DBS clearance (UK residency: 3+ years)
* Proof of right to work in the UK
Desirable
* City & Guilds 2391 – Inspection & Testing
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
* Authorised Person qualification
* IOSH or equivalent Health & Safety certification
* Experience in MOD environment
