Waldorf Astoria London - Admiralty Arch is seeking a Purchasing Manager to join the pre‑opening team for this highly anticipated new luxury hotel opening later this year.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced luxury hospitality leader to join the founding team and help shape the guest experience at this landmark hotel.
Located at the end of The Mall opposite Buckingham Palace, Waldorf Astoria London – Admiralty Arch will feature 100 elegant rooms and suites and 17,500 sqft of private residences. The hotel will open with two signature restaurants – Coreus by Clare Smyth and Café Boulud by Daniel Boulud – bringing together two of the world’s most celebrated Michelin‑starred chefs. Guests will also enjoy a world‑class spa, state‑of‑the‑art fitness facilities, and a collection of grand event spaces, including a ballroom for up to 320 guests.

Responsibilities
* Secure competitive quotations for all hotel requirements, ensuring best‑in‑class quality, value, and compliance with Group‑nominated supplier agreements
* Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of all locally nominated suppliers
* Oversee and manage the database of active local supplier contracts
* Ensure the Purchasing Manual remains current, compliant, and reflective of best practice
* Enforce purchasing policies, quality procedures, and brand standards to ensure full alignment with all Hilton requirements
* Partner with the Finance Manager / Director to develop and support the annual budgeting process
* Maintain detailed records of budget commitments and proactively communicate updates to senior leadership
* Implement robust systems for the allocation, tracking, and reconciliation of purchase orders
* Cultivate strong, professional relationships with suppliers and formally evaluate and report on their performance
* Lead and support the purchasing team, including recruitment, performance management, and adherence to established appraisal processes
* Supervise stores operations, ensuring strict compliance with health and safety, quality assurance, and stock control procedures while continuously improving inventory oversight
* Oversee all purchasing activity, including contracts, leases, and supplier nominations
* Prepare accurate and timely month‑end purchasing and accounts reports
* Execute ad‑hoc tasks and strategic requests as directed by Hotel Management
Qualifications
* Proven experience in purchasing or procurement functions
* Strong financial acumen, with the ability to manage and interpret budgets effectively
* Advanced computer skills, including confident use of Microsoft Excel
* Excellent organisational and time‑management capabilities
* A high level of accountability, resilience, and attention to detail
* Ability to perform competently under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
Preferred Experience
* Previous experience within the hotel or leisure sector
* Experience in a similar purchasing or procurement leadership role
* Relevant academic qualification in Finance, Accounting, or a related business discipline
