Your application should reflect your genuine experiences and qualifications to ensure authenticity and credibility Job overview We have an exciting opportunity for two dynamic, inspiring individuals to come and join our teams on Thorneywood Mt. 145 / 106 Thorneywood Mount Rehabilitation Units are a level 1 rehabilitation inpatient 12 bedded male unit and a 6 bedded female unit for adults with enduring mental health problems and associated needs. We have a strong Recovery focus, pride ourselves on our work with families and carers, have a busy therapeutic group programme as well as lots of individual working, and robust support for move on. As a valued member of our team your role will be to plan the daily activities on the unit with the nursing team and encourage patients to take part individually and also as part of a group. You will also have the opportunity to work alongside other AHPs in providing activities. Your feedback relating to patients participation will need to be communicated verbally to the MDT team and in writing within patients electronic notes. There are also training opportunities which will help to increase your knowledge and skills and enable you to deliver a high quality service for our patients. Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment. You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies. Advert To provide social / therapeutic activities for both individuals and groups of patients To identify patients’ current and past social interests in consultation with patients and carers. In conjunction with the nursing team and Occupational Therapist, develop individual programmes of care and ensure that these needs are met. To organise and participate in patient outings and social events from the ward To develop own group work skills so that appropriate opportunities are provided to patients on and off the ward To participate in alternative therapies for patients e.g. massage, multi-sensory work, aromatherapy once appropriate training has been received and in line with Trust policy To liaise with outside agencies as appropriate in the provision of activities and entertainment of patients. To liaise with families to build individualised care for the patients. Confidently document and communicate activities and findings. To maximise the range of therapeutic activity that can be provided to enhance the quality of life of patients. Please note that this post does not meet the pay or skill level required for a Skilled worker visa. Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa. In these circumstances the Trust would not, therefore, be able to sponsor for a Skilled Worker/Health & Care visa.
